Grace is 11 weeks old tomorrow, I cant believe she is growing up so quickly! She's moving on in leaps and bounds, the most recent development being the finding of her hands. That's her finding them, I already knew where they were! She has started sucking on them and waving them, and I might just be wishful thinking but I'm sure she has started grabbing my hand more purposfully while feeding her!

Another new development is that she will have a conversation with you. She isn't quite up to saying "nose" yet (she will!) but she will coo at you (something she has been doing much more than normal) and then wait for you to reply, and then coo again! The smiles are coming thick and fast, and you can pretty much coax oone out of her anytime, except during the early evening when she turns into a right terror!

We had 2 major ventures this last couple of weeks. Firstly we went to mandurah for a weekend with the family, that was an adventure! It was great to have mum and dad to help me out all weekend, and I think they secretly (or not so secretly!) loved it too! The weather was great,

So a quick update, Grace is 9 weeks old in about 3 hours. In some ways its flown past and seems like just yesterday we were in hospital, but sometimes it seems like we've known Gracie forever, and have had so much time together.

Simon had last week off, so he got to spend lots of time with Grace and I had lots of help. It was a really nice week! On wednesday after mothers group (which simon attended!) we had to go to Rheola St in West Perth for Grace's first round of immunisations. I thought I was ok and very brave until afterwards when Simon told me I'd been weird since we walked in and I realised I felt a bit funny about the whole thing. But Gracie was very brave and only screamed for a few minutes. For the rest of the day she was just a bit clingy, and slept for hours that night.

She's now pretty much smiling on demand, I cant explain how nice it is to be grinned at at 4am when the rest of theworld gets to be asleep but you have to be awake feeding baby. Having a milk drunk little girl look at you and her face break into a giant grin makes it all worth it! Both Grandmas were very happy to get smiles! However, these smiles are countered somewhat by a new development in crying, sort of an angry yell. Not a pretty noise to wake up to. Also, the last few days have been... pooey, to say the least!

Mum and I sorted out her clothesa few days ago, and my goodness, that girl has a lot of outfits! She has even outgrown some, which kind of makes me sad. We put the first outfit she ever wore into a special box we are making for her of things like the paper on the day she was born, her umbi-stump, things like that. THe rest are going to PMH for the small babies, because they are pretty special to us so we want to them to be used for something special. Grace being so small and me spending 5 days prior to her coming in hospital was stressful enough, I'm sure someone with a sick baby doesnt want to have to go out and find clothes that fit!

I've also decided its time to get working on her baby book, we got given a really cool one with heaps of detail, so I need to sit down and fill it in. Stay tuned for further updates!
